Dude, With the Phone Conversations While Asleep

For the second time (as far as I'm aware) I had a complete phone conversation (although he says brief) with FB while totally unconscious. I don't like the fact that I do this at all. That said, I suppose we can say it demonstrates a certain comfort level? Or something? Still, horrifying to be a sleep-talking 34-yr-old who has begun answering the phone in her sleep and having conversations and not remembering it. Much better to be a sleep-talking 20-year-old asleep at a fraternity house and to wake up random people in the room one fell asleep in because one is sitting straight up in bed and saying, "No, I am not being uncooperative!" in a very loud voice. And yes, that really happened.

OMG, one of my best friends does this--well, don't know if he answers the phone, but will sit straight up, asleep, and make loud pronouncements, often in a stagey/comic voice.

Two I remember: "What are you going to do with ALL THAT PARSLEY?"

And "you're going to do the cookie torture on me? THAT'S FUNNY."

Hee.

And I assume this isn't because you're on Ambien (you know, the sleeping pill that's been associated with "sleep eating" and "sleep driving")?

My sister's done this before--after taking an Ambien. And her friend (who also took an Ambien) once actually called up a guy she'd had a couple dates with, he came over, they kissed a bit, and he went home. And she had no memory of this! That's even scarier...

Nope, no ambien, no drink, not even like a benadryl or something. I'm just inclined to sleep-talking and have always been. At least I no longer walk in my sleep. That was a favorite nighttime pastime until I was about 10 or 11.

My husband used to do this when we were dating, although he would say things that didn't make sense so I would catch on that he was asleep.

Glad you're not sleep walking/driving.

I am a total sleep-talker, and Willow loves to repeat my sleepy ramblings, often in front of company. Once, I sat up in bed, stole the covers and wrapped them around my head like the virgin Mary, and said, "Aren't I CUTE?" I'll never live that one down.

Another time, much earlier when I was a freshman, and my roommate's girlfriend was sleeping over while he worked on a paper, he transcribed an entire nonsense conversation that the two of us(his girlfriend and I), asleep in different beds, had across the room with one another.

I just did it again... I would lock my phone out when I go to bed if I wasn't worried about missing an emergency call. And if I can get up and find my ringing phone in the dark, the chances are that I would unlock the phone first even with a passcode.

I tell my friends to ask me weird shit if they figure out I'm asleep because I babble like a retarded zombie, and since it's a direct line to my subconscious, there's no telling what I might say.
