Shhhh! It's a Secret!!!!

Well, as many of you know, I made a little oopsie in my last post involving a mistake related to naming. It could happen to anybody, right? I'd just ask that everybody who googled me (and I know some of you couldn't resist) be kind enough not to go shouting to all and sundry who I am. I'm not super-secret about this blog, in all truth, but at the same time, I'd rather not write under my real life professional name. The blog is a hobby - not part of work - yes? So thanks in advance. Now back to your regularly scheduled blog reading.

Darn. I missed you getting tangled up in your cape in the phone booth. Maybe next time. Back to the midterms to grade. The reading responses to return. And, oh yeah, the talk to write for tomorrow. Why do graduate students somehow think it would be "fun" for me to give them a talk? Fun for whom? And do I lose style points if I give the talk with enormous bags under my eyes?

I googled. Secret is safe here! I'd share my own identity, too, via email (if I haven't already?).

I saw it too, but I did not google it. I will keep your secret!!!

Dude, Itinerarium, didn't I tell you who I am before? I swear I did. Stop just commenting on my blog and email me!

Thanks everybody for agreeing with the whole "mum's the word" request. Not that anybody really cares who Dr. Crazy is, but you know. I just like to think that I can keep the professional and online identities somewhat separate. And SS - even if you did google it, that would be ok :) I would have googled me were I not myself in that situation :)

Yeah, I won't tell either! (You can be sure, too, because I'm already forgetting.)

Sorry, I told absolutely everybody. ;)

I just have to say that I can't get over that the phrase "googling someone" sounds naughty. Yes, I have the sense of humor of a 12 year old.

Oh, and lately, with the whole Blogger Beta/Google thing, I have to be really, really careful that the damn computer doesn't decide to sign me in under my real life Gmail account, which has my real name as my display name. Oy. So for the rest of you who might also have dual Gmail identies, just a heads-up warning.
