De-Lurk, Please :) Oh, and If You Want to Be Blog-Rolled...

Hello, apparently it's some sort of de-lurking week, and so I will ask that those of you who read and don't comment reveal yourselves - just to say hi - should you wish. Also, I've noticed in recent weeks that I've got a number of non-lurkers who are new, and so I probably should update my blogroll. So if you're not on my blogroll and you'd like to be, you can use this thread to leave a note about that, too. Hello lurkers! Hello new people! Thanks for reading my blog!

Hi, Dr. Crazy. I don't whether I have commented or not, so just in case, I am delurking now. So, hello!

Hello! I'm not a lurker, but I don't think I'm on the blogroll.

Dr. C, Not really a lurker. I've checked in before, and I'm already on your blogroll. Will you explain something? How does a blog get the coveted "wowza!" tag on your blogroll? I was a "wowza!" for a while, and now I'm not. I feel like I've let you down.

Hi! :) I would love to be on your blogroll: http://alice-inwonderland.blogspot.com/. -- Alice

Oh, US Jogger, you've not done anything wrong! The "wowza!" is the thing that blogrolling says to let people know that a blog has recently posted something new. Just do a new post, and your wowza will return!

And NC, I have no idea why you're not on my blogroll. I think I've assumed you're there for so long that it never occurred to me to add you, if that makes any sense! You shall be added! And hi Alice and Sarah! Thanks for stopping by, and I shall be updating the blogroll over the long weekend!

o.k., for once I'll play along. I do think I might have commented fairly recently, but have been reading much much longer. . .

I am one of the recent de-lurkers. I have been reading your blog since before you switched adresses, but didn't have a blog of my own until recently.

I'd love to be added to your blogroll

Greetings! Happy Thanksgiving! I've been a big fan of both your old and new blogs, but have never posted. I always learn so much here . . .

Hello Dr. Crazy, I'm one of those lurkers. I've been reading most of your archives this year. I mostly read you through Bloglines.

Not just a lurker any more, & you've already blogrolled me, but I wanted to say hi, and thank you. And about the cleaning? Hire it done. Maybe it helps if you've done it for pay yourself, as I once did; I figure I put in my time, I know what the job is like, and it is a wonderful thing to know that certain jobs are Someone Else's Problem. (And when you have someone else in the house, it's one less thing to fight about. ;-) ) Happy Thanksgiving.

Oh, I'm no lurker, and I'm on you're blogroll, but this is a club of readers among whom I want to be counted...

Happy Thanksgiving (tomorrow)! I sometimes lurk and I sometimes comment [especially when my great love, children's literature, is mentioned;-)]. I would love to be added to the roll. Thank you very much. This weekend, when I finally get around to updated my sadly neglected blog roll, you will be added as well.

Have a great Thanksgiving! And I've always wondered what "wowza" meant, so thanks for clearing that up (in your reply to a comment above).

I suppose there's no point in having started a blog specifically to be able to comment on blogs if I then neglect requests that I do comment. If you feel the need to add me to the blogroll, I'm at http://theemeraldbar.blogspot.com/ but that's entirely your call.

In other words, as you wish.

I'm a first-term MA student in European history, who started reading blogs by people such as yourself to get a better, more realistic idea about the job market in the humanities to help me decide whether to go on for the PhD. No decision yet, but I have spent much time being entertained and enlightened, for which you have my thanks.

Dammit, I missed Delurking Week! I was hoping to get some delurkers at my blog :(

I think I actually de-lurked during de-lurking week last year, but haven't been vocal since then at all (if vocal is the right word here . . . ). Anyway, I now have a blog at www.quietamericaningermany.blogspot.com

Hope you have a lovely long weekend!

Hello. I've been following your blog for nearly a year, so it's about time I de-lurked! I'm just out of undergrad and applying to interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs for next fall, and your blog (and others, but yours is my favorite and the only I check regularly) has helped me get a sense of what I'm getting into. I've even posted some of your entries on del.icio.us for future reference.

[delurk] Hi. Happy Thanksgiving. [/delurk]

Thanks to all who've delurked! And thank you all for reading!

I will begin updating the blogroll this evening - after I've run my errands, worked out, and graded a bit.

Hi! I think I've commented on here before, but I am a relatively new reader. I am a history doctoral student at a large midwestern university, studying race and gender in the antebellum period. My blog is "The History Enthusiast".

Hi, Crazy--

I'm a student at Trinity College in Connecticut. Your blog was suggested reading for my Blogging On class discussion of pseudonyms and anonymity... and then I got hooked.

I'm an English Lit major and am pretty well invested in going on to pursue a PhD in Enlightenment/18th Century Lit (after a year off, teaching English in Spain, that is). Naturally, being grad-school and (hopefully!) bound for Professordom, your blog captivates me.

What really, really got me,(and which I cannot again find, and I'm utterly dismayed! Feel free to help me out with this) was the post in which you expressed your concern about occasionally feeling like something of an intellectual fraud, as your personality and charm has in part afforded you access to "the party." Most of my angst (the non y-dominant related angst, that is) derives from this exact quandary: I know I'm intelligent--in a bitchy, swaggering way, probably moreso than more than a few of my peers--but at the same time I recognize that I've got a combination of brains and charm--geek classes AND spirit fingers, if you will--and sometimes the latter's taken me places the former alone could not have done, and I'm not sure if that's still legitimate, or how okay with this knowledge I am.

Anyhow--that post was touching, and now I'm delurked! YES. Keep doing what you're doing. Best of luck at the MLA convention! I'll send some good juju your way.

Just my luck, I take one little break from blog reading and miss delurking week!

Anyway, hi! I'm an undergrad psychology major at a party school in the Midwest. I think I've been reading for about a year and a half now, but I'm quiet. :)

I am not, however on your blog roll...have a look at my blog!
