The 25 Influential Writers Meme - Consider Yourself Tagged

Undine and Horace tagged me for this one, and lots of people are doing it, and this seems like a perfect way to kick off the spring break blogging.

The rules are this: " you name 25 writers who have influenced you. These are not necessarily your favorite writers or those you most admire, but writers who have influenced you. Then you tag 25 people." 25 is a lot of people to tag, so just consider yourself tagged if you're interested.

I like how Horace did his list as a sort of "this is your life" so I'm going to pick that up, too, but I'm also a fan of limiting myself, so I'm sticking with just 25. And so, I'll be working basically chronologically from childhood to now. I'll happily give further info on any of my choices in the comments if people ask.

  1. The Brothers Grimm.
  2. Laura Ingalls Wilder.

If that's the only one of hers you've read, you MUST check out Voyage in the Dark and Good Morning, Midnight. Two of my favorite books ever :)

I like this chronological way of proceeding and wish I'd done it, Dr. Crazy. Did you like Piercy's poetry or her novels?
