I think I've commented before. I don't think I'm a complete lurker. But at any rate, I'm a single female tenure tracker, got hired at the same time you did. And your blog was/is my favorite in the whole world. In fact, I'm such a big fan that it's embarrassing, and probably a little inappropriate, or at least indicative of my need to get a real life with deeper emotional texture than my online life.
Looking forward to more blogging on the academic writing life.

Yes, I've commented occasionally too, but not for a while; I like your blog a lot, came here initially via Inside Higher Ed. (I'm also a tenure-track female English professor; I find your musings on anonymity or otherwise especially interesting, my blog's more of a literary thing and less academic & it's under my real name, which leads to its being a somewhat different animal than yours I think.) I'll be interested to see what you do over here--good luck with writing plans & the new semester.

Hi everybody! You know what's funny? As Scrivener points out, I think I'm the biggest Lurker ever - it's actually REALLY rare that I comment on most of the blogs that I read. Hmmm.... Perhaps today I shall celebrate nat'l de-lurking week by commenting on all of the blogs that I read?

I am not a long-time fan, but I've been reading fairly regularly since close to the end of that other blog you had. I enjoy your work, and I believe I'll keep reading. Hi. I love reading your blog.. if only to remind myself why I was so right to get out of academia and off the tenure train before I ended up in a wreck. I'm only half-kidding. I'm an ex-prof with 2 small children and have been struggling with my two lives for too long. Finally after the nth act of blatant sexism and general bad management by my department, I quit. I'm a free woman. And getting poorer by the minute. I actually do feel free at last, and I don't regret it. Now I just have to find a way to pay the bills.
