There may be a time and a place for everything. The difficulty is figuring out when and where.

National De-Lurking Week
There are some folks (and I KNOW you're out there) who read my blog and yet are usually to shy to comment. Come on! Leave a comment! De-lurk! I'd love to hear from you!

Lurky lurky turkey turkey. Hey, everyone else's regulars are leaving daft comments on their blogs!!
hi! I read consistently, but often do not comment because the dialogue is quite smart in your comments and by the time I arrive, I never know quite how to add much, but I have always enjoyed your writing.
color me bored and academic, too. i'm a phd in my thirties in the humanities; landed my first tt job in the northeast to start this fall. love your blog.
I think I've commented before. I don't think I'm a complete lurker. But at any rate, I'm a single female tenure tracker, got hired at the same time you did. And your blog was/is my favorite in the whole world. In fact, I'm such a big fan that it's embarrassing, and probably a little inappropriate, or at least indicative of my need to get a real life with deeper emotional texture than my online life.
Looking forward to more blogging on the academic writing life.
Yes, I've commented occasionally too, but not for a while; I like your blog a lot, came here initially via Inside Higher Ed. (I'm also a tenure-track female English professor; I find your musings on anonymity or otherwise especially interesting, my blog's more of a literary thing and less academic & it's under my real name, which leads to its being a somewhat different animal than yours I think.) I'll be interested to see what you do over here--good luck with writing plans & the new semester.
I'm not a lurker at all, but I wanted to say I didn't know about National De-lurking Week at all and might do something similar on my blog -- so thanks. And cool graphic, too.
I think I've left a comment over here and at the old blog once or maybe twice. Is it ok to use the holiday to point out that I think you lurk on my blog way more than I lurk on yours?
Hi everybody! You know what's funny? As Scrivener points out, I think I'm the biggest Lurker ever - it's actually REALLY rare that I comment on most of the blogs that I read. Hmmm.... Perhaps today I shall celebrate nat'l de-lurking week by commenting on all of the blogs that I read?
Oh, and I can't take credit for the graphic - I stole it from Clare :)
The graphic was created by Sheryl of Paper Napkin. She's got a bunch more available if you follow the link. Some of them are quite funny. Actually, delurking week is her creation as well.
hello from a grad student lurker. yours is one of the blogs i'm reading as i'm finishing up coursework and getting ready to teach in the fall...it's a good way to keep perspective on this life. (i also enjoy the other, less academic posts...)
I'm not sure whether I count as a lurker or not. I have left one (1) comment, which elicited a very polite response. I am not a long-time fan, but I've been reading fairly regularly since close to the end of that other blog you had. I enjoy your work, and I believe I'll keep reading. It's a nice perspective on teaching and the academic life.
Hi. I love reading your blog.. if only to remind myself why I was so right to get out of academia and off the tenure train before I ended up in a wreck. I'm only half-kidding. I'm an ex-prof with 2 small children and have been struggling with my two lives for too long. Finally after the nth act of blatant sexism and general bad management by my department, I quit. I'm a free woman. And getting poorer by the minute. I actually do feel free at last, and I don't regret it. Now I just have to find a way to pay the bills.
Hi, Dr. Crazy! This is my first visit - I came from 'Quod She' via your old blog. Thus, my first introduction to you was the . closing post of the old blog. I was intrigued, and followed your 'change of address link' and I'm glad I'm here! Great stuff!
Hi Crazy - I've been reading for some time, and enjoy it both as a grad student who's interested in academic issues, and a reader who appreciates good writing. best, kermit
Hi. I've been reading your blog for a couple months, and don't think that I have ever commented. I like reading your blog because it helps me to remember that my professors are real people with lives outside of the class they are teaching me.
Hi Dr. Crazy--I like your new space! I can't remember if this is my actual first comment on your blog, but I've been reading your previous one for a while.
I just discovered your blog. I'm contemplating whether to head for a future as a law professor. I love reading about how evals really work for a professor.
Hi. I've commented before but not recently (if memory serves me). I had been reading your old blog for about a year and I think I like the new blog even more!

I dont lurk. I also dont comment as much as I used too. So that's that.
Oh yeah, and howdy.
hello!

"Yet another stressed out academic who spends way too much time online. That'd be me!"
That'd be me too, though I don't have a blog.

hi.
Am delurking as ordered. Hello, Dr. Crazy!

Hi, Dr. Crazy =) Found you via my classmate's link to your old site, and have been a faithful follower since then. Glad you're still blogging.
hi. i've posted once or twice but happy delurking week all the same!
Greetings and salutations! How’s that for a hello?

You caught me...
Have a great semester...
I'm not sure whether I've ever left a comment, but I read you all the time. Good stuff.

I admit, I lurk! You have a lovely blog, and I always look forward to reading it.
I know I've commented before but I definitely read every day. Love the new format, by the way!
I read all your posts, but don't always comment, so I think that qualifies me as a lurker.

hi :)
I'm a regular lurker, simply because I rarely have anything useful to say (take now for example)! I really enjoy the daily read though.
Hi. Delurking. I love your blog.
The graphic was created by Sheryl of Paper Napkin. She's got a bunch more available if you follow the link. Some of them are quite funny. Actually, delurking week is her creation as well.
I think your other blog was one of the first academic blogs I stumbled upon. I definitely read this blog far far far more often than I comment.
Delurking. I have always enjoyed your blog. I especially appreciate your posts on teaching.

hello, damnit.
Morning, I'm not yet a lurker, because I just found your blog.

Hello.
Hey! :)
I've been reading for a few months, but can't remember if I've ever commented.

Just delurking as requested. I've really enjoyed reading your blog over the last year or so.
Hiya De-Lurkers! Thanks for stopping by!
Nice to find your new site. Hope you accomplish what you are trying to do. You are always a pleasure to read.
