Fitness, Finances, Fun - Two Months In

I realize that you all really aren't going to find this post very interesting, but if one thing that blogs can provide is accountability, I do feel like it's not always a bad thing to use them for that. This year... I don't quite know how to describe how this year has gone so far. Things are really good, but then at the same time, things came up that I'd not anticipated. Like did I expect that I would be taken ill with the Evil Cold of 2008, which knocked me on my ass for weeks? No. Did I expect that I'd have two fairly major research things going on in this, the year where I'd vowed that I wasn't going to do new research? No. There are other things I didn't really expect, too, that I cannot yet disclose as they are not really about me, per se.

At any rate, the unanticipated things do have an impact on resolutions. So, for example, exercise was interrupted by the Illness, and I need to get back in the groove starting today. And the fun resolution? Well, let's just say I've been pretty wiped out by things thus far this year, and that "fun" has included doing research stuff and just resting on the weekends for the most part. I'm hoping things pick up as spring springs.

For the positive, though, I've kept at a 14 lb. loss of weight, and I've done exceptionally well with totally changing my eating habits (and have almost given up pop completely, which is really unbelievable). And I've actually got money in the bank, even with having to pay for some book permissions, and the credit card debt is going steadily down. In other words, in spite of some unexpected glitches, things appear to be going well.

So that's my boring 2-month-progress report on The Year of the F.

Not at all boring. Congratulations on the progress and I hope the fun kicks in soon.

Fun definitely needed and deserved. I'm a doctor (okay, it's just a phd) and I hereby prescribe a strong dose of fun before March 15. Take two and then a nap.

'Just a phd'- hey that means we are real doctors- unlike the fake medical kind whose title is honoury!

Seriously, congrats on an excellent start to the new year Dr Crazy!
