Ok, a Hair Query

So, I'm sitting in my office (yet again) doing more work (because something is wrong with me, I think). Anyway, I do have a hair appointment tomorrow, though, and I am of two minds about what to do.

Option one is to stay with basically what I've got, a cross between the cut of the Paris Hilton (I know, I know, but it's a great cut, and a great cut on my face) and the color of the Sienna Miller when her hair was short, with dramatic blonde highlights around the face and through the crown with the hair getting darker as you move to the back and to underneath.

Option two is to try out this hairstyle. (Scroll through the pictures. No, I don't plan on wearing my hair as if it is being blown vertically by a fan, but I like how the cut is short underneath and looks like a regular bob from the front. Also, I should note that the color is pretty close to my own - very light blonde highlights around the front, but darker behind/underneath (though not much because it's my natural blonde-y color because I couldn't face actually dying the whole head of hair on top of getting highlights - oh, and I'm getting the color done tomorrow as well, so I'll be all shiny and awesome. The color is staying the same, as I love it.)

What do you all think? (Incidentally, I do not promise to take your advice on this, but I would like some opinions other than my own. On the one hand, if I'm going to experiment with my hair, I feel like now is the time to do it because if I hate it then I can grow it into something I don't hate before MLA, assuming I get an interview. On the other, I know that stupid Paris Hilton haircut shaggy-bob-thing I've had on my head is probably the best haircut I've had ever, so maybe I should stick with it? But I like changing my hair! Dammit, I don't know. This is why I need your input.)

I totally understand the lure of doing something different, but I much prefer the Paris cut to the Linda cut. Still, it doesn't look like it would take all that long to get back to the Paris from the Linda, if you should decide to go that route. Best of luck!

The Paris cut is totally cute. I've had something that I think is not unlike the Linda cut, though my hair is nothing like hers (it's very thick and very wavey), and I LOVED it--it was basically a severely slanted, wedge bob, longish in front but tapered way up behind. My hairdresser referred to it as what Nefertiti would were if she were living in New York in 2005.

I'm sure they'd both work for you, though.

Uh, that's what Nefertiti would WEAR. Duh.

Paris cut. Love it.

I might love the Linda cut as well, but I have zero imagination today and cannot envision what it would look like not all wacked out.

I say go for the second option. Of course, I've been saying I am going to get purple punk-like highlights for two years and never do it because I am afraid it will jeapordize my authority in the classroom, so perhaps the spiky punk look has a similar appeal yet an "oh my god can I really do this?" factor? Good luck!

Well, as someone who went for the dramatic change yesterday at the salon, I say go for Option #2. My motto: hair grows back. Plus, a good stylist can fix almost anything if you really hate it.

I'm not grooving on Linda Evangelista's cut - but I do want the Dries Van Noten coat she is wearing.

One of the best places I have found for haircut ideas is british hair magazines. They are inventive and have a lot of really nice cut options for all lengths and lots of color ideas. I get them at Borders.

Hmmm. In the minority here, but my first thought was: Dude, if you can pull off the same haircut as Linda Evangalista, then you rock the free world. Also perhaps the developing nations. The real question, I think, is whether you're feeling punk rock glamour, rather than simply glamour. Well, are you?

awww, cripe. I misspelled "Evangelista."

It wasn't an option given, but I like the new cut that Kelly Ripa has. Or a layered version of it.

Dude, I didn't do ANYTHING! My stylist called in sick - for the second time in as many attempts at appointments, incidentally, and I think she might be pregnant, though I need confirmation on that because it wasn't clear from the guy at the salon who trimmed me (and not awesomely) last time - and so I have until thursday to decide now. I'm entirely on the fence still, and will discuss this in another post, perhaps.
