Only Time for a Quick One....
As I'm in Hometown at my mom's house and on her crappy dial-up internet connection. At any rate, I'll be here until the beginning of next week, and so it'll be until then until I respond to comments on my most recent posts. The Man-Kitty was not at all happy to make this journey so quickly again, but got over it once I got him into the carrier. He's such a good kitty-cat. In other news, going out with friends tonight, and have a weird feeling that there may be an adventure of some kind. We shall see. At any rate, now am going to go for a walk with a friend who took a vacation day from work and then to the mall or something. Tra la!

Hey, Dr. Crazy, I usually read you on bloglines, so this is my first actual visit to your remodeled site and it is FABULOUS!!!! Sorry to be so late with this comment, but I am totally jealous.
Have a great time. Can't wait to hear about your "adventure"!!!!!
What adventure? Now you piqued my curiosity and I am really looking forward to learning about this.
Margo, Darling--I think you look fabulous and inspiring. I would love to see you in a Peggy Lee outfit...I tried to post a comment to your blog but it wasn't accepting comments. Go figure.
Hey -- I know this really isn't the place for it, but does anyone else feel a little fretful and lonely about New Kid on the Hallway's abrupt announcement of a hiatus?
Not that she doesn't have every right in the world to a blog hiatus. I just wanted to go on record as saying I'm already missing her, and wishing her well.
Sorry -- that's totally off topic.
Have fun adventuring, Dr. Crazy!
And, yes, I'm also missing New Kid. And a wee bit worried. Like you, I'm wishing her very, very well.
Dude, Adventures are the best!
More shopping? And where is the adventure? I'm so curious and livid with fear that you might not tell us; even worse: that nothing happened! Pray tell.
A quick update - still at the parental home of dial-up-y annoying-ness.
1. There really wasn't an "adventure," but there was a fun time with friends I'd not seen in a while. I think my feeling like I might have an adventure was more like a "I hope I'll have one" thing but really it's just end-of-summer boredom. And I'm thinking all adventures right now are probably going to be on the professional tip, as in, the new duties of the semi-admin. job for which I'm getting reassigned time this year, getting book proposal done and submitted someplace, and job market stuff. No room for non-professional adventures, at least not for the next few months, I'm thinking. Though of course I wouldn't say no to a non-professional adventure if one came along.
2. While some MIGHT call me a shopaholic, we should remember that I haven't done any REAL shopping for about 3 years with the exception of one pre-MLA shopping trip like 1 and a half years ago. And in all of my shopping of the past few weeks, I've only spent roughly $300 bucks, which to my mind isn't very much at all. Thus, if we look at the shopping I've done OVER TIME, and the amount of money spent on shopping, I am not a shopaholic. That said, totally got two pairs of jeans this weekend, each costing ONLY 13 DOLLARS AND NINETEEN CENTS at Macy's - and they were those Levis straight-legged ones I'd thought would be my "tide me over until I find a pair of truly skinny jeans that do not look hideous." Am very excited about this.
Will be back to regular blogging probably Wednesday....
(Oh, and I'm worried about and miss NK as well! If you're out there, NK, check in to tell us you're ok....)
Oh, I'm so glad someone has mentioned the abrupt departure of NK--very troubling.
Party hearty while you can, Dr. C.
