Oof. Wine, beer, whiskey, wine. Oof.

The blogger meet-up was awesome, yo, but Crazy may have indulged a wee bit more than she should have. She tried to go to bed at a reasonable hour (1:30 AM) but that plan was foiled by an Infatuation from days of yore who thought it was a good idea to have Crazy drink wine from the hotel minibar with him while she told him all of the reasons that he's a bad person and a narcissist (because Crazy's really charming when she's been drinking for about 8 hours). Crazy slept like an angel (i.e., she passed out) and then shamefacedly returned to her room around 7 AM, ordered a big room service breakfast, and slept until about 11:30. There really was nothing else for it. And now it's time to go to some panels.

Tell me about it, sister. The last of us decamped at like 2:30. It was not until some really good heavy Chicago Pizza at 6:30 this evening (Gino's East on Superior) that I felt like a real person again.

But it was worth it all to see you lot.

I'm so (kind of) jealous! By which I mean I woke up this morning thinking, "Thank you, god(dess), for this warm bed in which I am waking up alone and not hungover and not having to give a paper in 20 minutes at MLA. But DAMN that would be fun and painful and awesome and awful" =).

So good to see/meet so many of you all. I successfully threw up on no one while hosting the interviews. That's the kind of MLA-er I am. Vomit-free. Thus far.
Horace--I was also at Gino's East around 7 but I was too starving/not focusing on the planet to be on the lookout. Which one should always be when one is at the MLA.

Ya'lls conferences are way better than mine!

OKAY THIS is totally the kind of vicarious, not at MLA kind of post I was looking for. Yeah! Everyone's been so nice about their experience there that I was beginning to worry I'm the only one who longs to do things like this at conferences. I once went to a perfectly lovely feminist conference in New Orleans (bad hosting city!) and went to one panel-- mine, first thing first morning. Then, in spite of MEANING to go to others (there was this great Emily Toth one) we just never made it back from the French Quarter after lunch. All three days. :)

I knew someone was out there being fun and all. :)

Next year, I totally want to be at MLA in San Francisco. Another city that has places to go to where you can miss panels. :)

I, also, slept until nearly noon on Friday, and had the pleasure of hosting a vicious headache until the morning of the following day. But boy, was it fun!

Thanks for making the arrangements, C!

i'm more sad than i can say that i missed meeting the likes of you and flavia--

instead of having so much fun i couldn't see the next day, i sat with a puking child from 4pm-1am on thursday. and followed the night of puking non-sleep with a day of interviews.

mostly i'm sad that i didn't get to share drinks with my favorite bloggers! i'm glad that it was fun...
