This was because the owners got home at midnight and left at 6am. I made various formal complaints but the landlord said she "couldn't do anything."

But it seriously ruined my life and I couldn't get ONE decent night of sleep because most days I would stay up for hours fuming about my frustration, or I would have to get up at 6am and stay up.

Have you spoken with the landlord before? In my experience they don't really help out unless it's illegal. So I would leave a note on his door. A very, very polite and politically correct note. Anyway, those are my thoughts. Good luck!Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03559781612065612808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20099192.post-1139373218543548352006-02-07T23:33:00.000-05:002006-02-07T23:33:00.000-05:00I'd start with a note on the door the next morning...I'd start with a note on the door the next morning... something like, "I hope everything is ok in your appartment, it sounds like someone was in some pain with all that moaning and banging, please let me know next time if you need me to call 911".

That will probably do the trick. If he ignores you, play dumb with the landlord and ask if there is late-night construction downstairs....Inside the Philosophy Factoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12255753259090709877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20099192.post-1139351892873176642006-02-07T17:38:00.000-05:002006-02-07T17:38:00.000-05:00Haha. I knew the names of both of their boyfriends without having met either. I never left a note or said anything; I'm curious how the neighbor will react if you do leave a note.litprofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04207910700529199758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20099192.post-1139329466831721222006-02-07T11:24:00.000-05:002006-02-07T11:24:00.000-05:00I'd leave a note for the neighbor. Short, sweet .....I'd leave a note for the neighbor. Short, sweet ... just saying I'd appreciate it if he could be a bit quieter between 10 pm - 5 am. If he's embarrassed, so what?~profgrrrrl~https://www.blogger.com/profile/15280731948424317624noreply@blogger.com
